SenZ2 has made it to the finals of the (Dutch) Data Challenge with their proposal for a HIGH-RES WATER MEASUREMENT NETWORK (Fijnmazig Meetnet Water). The Data Challenge 2017 takes place within the framework of the Slim Watermanagement program (Dutch Freshwater Delta Program). The organization is owned by Rijkswaterstaat, Water Board Amstel, Gooi en Vecht, Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden, Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland, Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier, in collaboration with the CBS (Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics), the KNMI (Dutch Weather Institute), STOWA (Dutch Water Research Institute), the Union of Water Boards and Nelen & Schuurmans .
Friday June 16th, SenZ2 is able to pitch the idea for a jury with, among others, Peter Heij (Director General Space and Water at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment). The unique LevelRadar sensor for measuring water level, wave height and water flow rate is central to the proposal. This new multi-use wireless radar technology is the enabler for a fine-grained measurement network for water because of its easy “Fire & Forget” type of installation without the need for any local infrastructure.
